EastEnders enthusiasts are abuzz with speculation after the show appeared to tease the comeback of a fan-favourite character.

Stacey Slater, portrayed by Lacey Turner, has been a fixture in the soap since her first appearance in 2004, quickly becoming one of its most memorable faces.

The fiery Walford local has been central to numerous major plots, including her torrid affair with Max Branning (played by Jake Wood) and the dramatic murder of Archie Mitchell (portrayed by Larry Lamb).

Lacey's portrayal of Stacey, particularly her character's struggle with bipolar disorder, has earned her multiple accolades.

Despite this, viewers have recently pointed out Stacey's diminishing presence on the BBC series, reports the Daily Star. On X, a fan humorously posted: "HAVE YOU SEEN THIS WOMAN?2

Another chimed in: "No but seriously where is my girl? she were in every single episode last year, there probably wasn't a single day I didn't see her. need her back NEOWN! ".

Echoing the sentiment, another viewer wrote: "Where is Stacey Slater and why haven't we seen her in weeks? " But then, on Tuesday (July 9), the EastEnders' official social media account teased fans with a photo of Lacey and the caption: "Our lovely Lacey! ".

In the comments section, speculation was rife that Lacey might be making a much-anticipated comeback. One fan eagerly commented: "Haven't seen her for ages can't wait to see her on screen."

Another added their voice, saying: "Where has she been? Haven't seen her in ages."

A thrilled third exclaimed: "STACEY HAS BEEN FOUND!!!" While yet another person joined the chorus of excitement and said: "Can't wait to have her back on screen."
