The esteemed TV personality has taken a step back from the limelight following the public breakdown of her marriage, with divorce proceedings on the horizon with her estranged husband, former GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes.

Since the bombshell revelation, the cherished presenter has taken a temporary hiatus from her regular slot on the popular daytime show, leaving fans on X - previously known as Twitter - clamouring for her return.

One fan queried: "#loosewomen When is Ruth back on again?" while another echoed the sentiment, stating: "I miss Ruth, it's not the same #loosewomen."

However, opinions were split regarding Wednesday's (July 10) panel, with some predicting a less than stellar show, reports the Mirror.

The day's lineup featured guest Mariella Frostrup alongside regulars Kelle Bryan, Christine Lampard, and Coleen Nolan, but not all viewers were thrilled.

Complaints surfaced on social media, with one viewer lamenting: "#Loosewomen, ffs Kelle's on the panel" and another expressing dissatisfaction with Christine Lampard's presence: "Not gasping grinning Lampard again #Loosewomen," accompanied by a rolling eyes emoji.

Amidst this, reports have emerged that the divorce between Eamonn and Ruth, who had been together for 27 years and married for 14, has taken a turn for the worse.

An acquaintance of Eamonn allegedly disclosed to the Mail, "It could get nasty. To think that they would go from appearing so happy on TV, to potentially going to war over money is not what their viewers expected."

They further expressed this pertinent point ought to be pondered upon during the division of assets.

The official announcement stating the TV pair will part ways came in May, with Ruth reserving any comment about the split until now. It's believed she is preparing to discuss it live on television backed by her co-presenters.

A source well-versed in TV matters mentioned to MailOnline, "The presenters on Loose Women have a history of opening up about their marriage splits on air and it's a very supportive environment. Ruth knows the viewers are heavily invested in her breakup so she will be addressing her and Eamonn for the first time on the show."

The same insider added, "She will be surrounded by the people she's closest to on the show and then will be drawing a line under it... she has no plans to do a big interview, this will be the one and only time she speaks."
