EastEnders' Sharon Watts for 'another affair' Mitchell brothers but fans divided

EastEnders' Sharon Watts, played by Letitia Dean, might find herself entangled in another love triangle involving the Mitchell brothers.

Sharon has had a colourful romantic history since her first appearance on the soap in 1985, with numerous Walford men falling for her charms.

She was recently left heartbroken following the death of her fiance Keanu Taylor, portrayed by Danny Walters, who was killed by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) after he tried to strangle Sharon upon discovering that her son, Albie, wasn't his.

However, it was Sharon's scandalous affair back in 1994 that had viewers glued to their screens. A staggering 30 million fans tuned in to watch the Queen Vic moment when Sharon Mitchell's affair with her brother-in-law Phil Mitchell, played by Steve McFadden, was revealed.

Last week on the soap, a fresh Mitchell clan made their entrance: Billy's brother Teddy and his offspring, Harry and Barney. This week sees Teddy taking a shine to Sharon.

Upcoming episodes will show Phil and Teddy getting into hot water with Sharon after they leave the gym in disarray following a Mitchell family booze-up. Teddy then attempts to charm Sharon over by asking her out for a drink.

The pair share a flirtatious encounter at the bar, causing Stevie to raise an eyebrow, wary of his son flirting with Phil's former flame. When Teddy suggests another round, Sharon teasingly declines and makes her exit.

Speculation is rife among viewers that Sharon could find herself entangled in a love triangle with Teddy and Phil. On Twitter, one user predicted: "sharongate part 2 looms."

Another expressed their disapproval of the potential storyline, simply stating: "Abysmal."

Meanwhile, a Reddit discussion saw one fan speculate about a possible 30th-anniversary homage to Sharongate (1994) involving Sharon, Teddy, and Phil. Another commented on the long-standing rumours of romantic reunions, saying: "You know, everyone (for months) talking about Sharon and Phil and Alfie and Kat getting back together...and I wasn't feeling it."
