ITV has revealed yet another schedule shake-up as two fan-favourite television shows have been pulled from screens. The broadcaster has been making way for the coverage of the UEFA Euros 2024, which has meant fans have had to wait a little while longer to watch their favourite TV programmes.

It was previously revealed that quiz shows Tipping Point and The Chase will not air during their regular slots at 4pm and 5pm respectively on Tuesday afternoon (June 18).

Now ITV have announced that both Emmerdale and Coronation Street have been axed on Monday evening to make way for Austria vs France which kicks off at 7.15pm.

Instead, fans will get their Emmerdale fix on Tuesday evening when two episodes will air back to back from 7pm to 8pm. Viewers will get to watch Coronation Street straight after as it airs at 8pm, only having to wait an extra day to find out what's going on in Weatherfield.

The latest shake-up comes after Corrie was taken off-air on Friday to make way for the football, leaving fans raging. ITV viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their disappointment about their favourite soap being axed.

One annoyed person wrote: "Put Corrie and Emmerdale on ITV2 then, no biggie is it?" (sic)

Another social media user penned: "Why can't @ITV do what BBC have done. Football on BBC1 and other popular programmes ie Casualty they have put on BBC2.

"So those of us that hate football can watch our usual programmes. You could do this with Emmerdale and Coronation Street." (sic)

Somebody else asked: "@ITV please explain why the football coverage starts at 6.30pm but kick-off isn’t until 8pm.

"You could easily have put both coronation street and Emmerdale on before the match starts! Not everyone wants to watch football and is it necessary to have an hour and a half of waffle?"

Yet another annoyed X user fumed: "It's about time this nonsense stopped, there is no need to cancel Corrie for football, there are enough channels for both."

A fifth questioned: "Why don't you put the episodes on @ITVX early," while a sixth added: "Why doesn't football have its own dedicated channel." (sic)

The UEFA Euros 2024 final will air on ITV1 on July 14, so fans will most likely be in for more schedule shake-ups with their favourite shows being aired on different days instead of their usual slots.
