Loose Women: Kaye Adams says today's show will be shorter

ITV's Loose Women was pulled off air after just 30 minutes on Friday to accommodate horse racing coverage. The show is usually an hour long but had its broadcast time cut in half.

Friday's panel consisted of Kaye Adams, Brenda Edwards, Linda Robson and Nadia Sawalha. Introducing the episode Kaye said: "We are slightly shorter today because of live racing but don't worry we are still packed with lots of big debates."

True to her word they crammed quite a lot into their 30 minutes opening the show by recalling the time they had Stormy Daniels on as a guest and discussing the Donald Trump case.

Later in the show Nadia and Linda explained that they talk to their dogs. While Linda demonstrated sign language she uses with her pooch, Nadia was far more vocal.

She told the panel that she had employed a trainer for her dog and they had taught her to speak their language. She then went on to demonstrate the sounds.

Today's shortened episode was in contrast to the bank holiday Monday edition, which was extended.

That show, which was hosted by Charlene White, Linda Robson, Kelle Bryan and Gloria Hunniford had 15 minutes added to its run time giving fans of the show even more of the panellists' chat.

However, this was 15 minutes less than the show has been extended in the past. For the early May bank holiday on May 6, the programme was extended by a full 30 minutes, making it a 90-minute broadcast.

In that case, viewers got advance warning from the panellists on the May 3 edition when Kaye Adams, Myleene Klass, Judi Love and Kelly Holmes announced the extension.

There was no warning of Monday's extra time and the panellists didn't address it in any of their discussions, which included Linda Robson showing them how to clean their homes properly. She was also fitted for a bra for the first time in years.

No other morning programme was affected by the shake-up with earlier shows including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning all running in their usual slots.

The programme has been cut short or cancelled in the past to accommodate things such as the Cheltenham Festival and budget coverage.

Loose Women is on ITV weekdays at 12.30pm.
