Maseru, the capital city of Lesotho, has been named the city with the cheapest pint of beer in the world in 2024. According to a recent analysis conducted by finder.com, the cost of a pint in Maseru stands at an astonishingly low £0.63.

This is in stark contrast to the world's most expensive pint, found in Doha, Qatar, which costs £9.99—a staggering £9.36 difference.

This year's data shows a slight shift from 2023, where the cost of a pint in Lesotho was £0.46, compared to Qatar’s £10.47.

The world average for a pint from the 166 countries surveyed is now £2.74, reflecting a 5 percent increase from last year’s average of £2.60.

London, one of the UK’s most bustling cities, remains on the pricier end of the spectrum, with the average cost of a pint at £6.75. This positions London as the 9th most expensive city for beer, with its prices more than double the global average. Other cities topping the list of most expensive beers include Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at £9.43; Manama, Bahrain, at £8.84; Reykjavik, Iceland, at £8.29; and Oslo, Norway, at £8.05.

In contrast, the cities with the cheapest beer prices include Lilongwe, Malawi, where a pint costs £0.65; Lusaka, Zambia, at £0.67; Vientiane, Laos, also at £0.67; and Lagos, Nigeria, where a pint costs £0.73.
