FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a blaze at a block of flats in Battersea, South London.

Eight fire engines and 58 firefighters and officers battled the flames at a high-rise on Winstanley Road and got there within six minutes.
The 24-storey high-rise is called Sporle Court and contans 106 flats.
"Part of a 13th floor flat was damaged by fire. The Brigade's 999 control officers took 25 calls about the fire.

"The Brigade was called at 1307 and the fire was under control at 1404.
"Fire crews from Battersea, Clapham, Wandsworth, Chelsea, Fulham, Tooting, Lambeth, and Brixton fire stations atttended the scene.
"The cause of the fire is under investigation."
One witness shared on Twitter that he didn't hear the fire alarms going off.

He said: "Disturbing liking fire in Sporle Court in Wandsworth / Battersea. Multiple fire crews in attendance, didn’t hear fire alarms going off."
The London Fire Brigade could not confirm how many residents were impacted and a spokeswoman said there is nothing to suggest that anyone was evacuated from the building.
Labour MP for Battersea Marsha de Cordova tweeted thanking the London Fire Brigade for their hardwork.
