Girl, 13, victim of sex assault in park attack in broad daylight while friends are beaten
POLICE have launched an investigation after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in a park in Manchester.
The girl was attacked alongside six other teens in a park in Oldham
The 13-year-old victim was among a group of teenagers who were attacked in Wellyhole Street, Oldham, on Wednesday afternoon.
Six other teens - two 14-year-old boys, two boys aged 13 and a 13-year-old girl - received minor injuries in the assault.
The girl who was sexually assaulted is receiving support from specially trained officers, the Manchester Evening News reported.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called at 6.25pm on Wednesday 3 May 2017 to reports that a group of teenagers had been assaulted on a park on Wellyhole Street, Oldham.
"Officers have launched an investigation and established three boys aged 14, two aged 13 and a 13-year-old girl received minor injuries.
"A 13-year-old girl was also sexually assaulted and is being supported by specially trained officers.
"There are extra patrols in the area and officers are working closely with the local authorities to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident."
