A group of friends set off to tackle Snowdon expecting to be greeted by breathtaking views after their brutal four-hour climb.

However, their excitement turned to shock and laughter when they reached the summit only to be met by a thick, impenetrable fog.

Sameed Asghar, one of the climbers, captured the moment and shared it on TikTok with the caption: "We hiked for four hours for this view."

Instead of the iconic panoramic view, the group was faced with a dense whiteout, with not a single view in sight.

The video quickly went viral, with TikTok users flocking to the comments section to express their views.

One commented, "What view?" while another joked: "That's why you check the weather first."

Others shared similar experiences, with one user adding: "It was the same for me, but cleared up on the way down."

Despite their foggy summit, the climb to Snowdon's peak remains a fantastic experience for many.

Standing at 1,085 metres (3,560 feet), it’s the highest mountain in Wales and one of the most popular hiking destinations in the UK.

On clear days, the summit offers breathtaking views that stretch as far as England, Ireland, and even the Isle of Man.

Climbing Snowdon typically takes about five to seven hours for a round trip, although that depends on the route chosen.

The Llanberis Path is one of the most accessible, but more challenging routes like Crib Goch also attract many hikers.

The friends' climb may have ended with fog, but Snowdon continues to offer unforgettable experiences to the half a million people who visit it annually.
