First pictures of teenage boy found dead after shed fire in Doncaster
THESE are the first pictures of the 13-year-old boy who died following a fire in a shed in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
Jack Sheldon was the victim of the horrific fire
South Yorkshire Police has confirmed that a 13-year-old boy has been found dead after a fire in Doncaster.
The teenager has been named locally as Jack Sheldon.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at 9pm on Thursday night at Byron Avenue in Campsall.
A joint investigation between South Yorkshire Police and fire service is underway.
Jack Sheldon’s great grandmother Irene Bennett, 27, said: "All I know is that he burnt to death in a shed.
“His mum’s partner came round to my house last night and told me that Jack had died.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and then found the teen's body
“He told me that Jack had been in the shed and was fiddling around with a petrol engine.
“I think he locked himself in and couldn’t get out.
“He had a thing for locking doors and would always say to me ‘Nanna lock your doors’ whenever he came round.
“I can’t believe it has happened. I was out yesterday and when I came back my recycling and been gone through and I knew it was him because that’s what he did.”

Once the fire was put out a body was discovered, believed to be that of a 13-year-old boy
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Emergency services were called to an address in Byron Avenue, Campsall, around 9pm yesterday (Thursday 27 October) following reports of a fire in a shed.
"Once the fire was put out a body was discovered, believed to be that of a 13-year-old boy. Formal identification is yet to take place.

Friends have taken to Facebook to express their condolences.
Marie Holmes wrote: “Has a heartbroken big lad. Rip Jack so very sad my heart goes out to his family and friends.”
Sue Ryan wrote: “Absolutely heartbroken for friends and family of the young boy who as lost his life far to young ,thinking of you all r.i.p Jack.”
