The SNP deputy leader joined Shona Robison at the small constituency office they share in Dundee - just days after details of his extraordinary love life emerged.
Nationalists have been left reeling over the disclosure both he and married Commons colleague Angus MacNeil enjoyed affairs with the same woman.
They have been reported to two separate Westminster watchdogs to determine if they misused taxpayers cash to fund trysts with journalist Serena Cowdy.
Both the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) and Parliamentary Standards Commissioner Kathryn Hudson are yet to decide on any investigations.

But the scandal threatens to derail their careers and open rifts in the upper echelons of the disciplined SNP.
The politicians both represent Dundee East in Holyrood and Westminster and Ms Robison is close friends with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
They announced their separation on Sunday - shortly before the party was rocked by the Westminster love-triangle involving journalist Miss Cowdy, 36.
