Rescuers race to UK beach as daft driver flips car doing 'doughnuts' on sand
They thought it was just laughs and doughnuts on the flats, but one sudden roll resulted in the beach being flooded with emergency crews.

Rescuers raced to a UK beach after a daft motorist drove out onto the bay and flipped his vehicle while doing 'doughnuts' in the sand. Furness Coastguard said it was called out to Flookburgh in Cumbria, by Morecambe Bay, on Easter Monday, when the Toyota vehicle flipped onto its side on the wet sand.
Five youths were in the car, but they sustained only minor injuries. The North West Ambulance Service, Cumbria Fire and Rescue and Cumbria Police also attended. Emergency teams righted the car and then towed it to prevent further oil and fuel pollution as the beach was a site of Special Scientific Interest (SSI).

Furness Coastguard explained that the vehicle's driver had been doing 'doughnuts' in the sand, the wheels dug in and the vehicle rolled over."
Bay Search & Rescue (BSAR) said: "A bit of fun turned into a bit of a disaster for these youths.
"BSAR, North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust Arnside & South Lakes Coastguard Rescue Team Furness Coastguard Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service Cumbria Police were all tasked to a vehicle with five occupants in side, following their losing control out on the sands near Flookburgh.
"The vehicle rolled over onto its side and fortunately only minor injuries were sustained by the five occupants who were treated by the fire service and then Cumbria Ambulance crew, before being taken to hospital.
"Happy Easter everyone, these eggs have definitely been cracked. BSAR recovered the vehicle back onto its wheels, and got it off the shore preventing further oil and fuel pollution."

Furness Coastguard said one casualty was treated for injuries by the fire service and handed over to North West Ambulance Service.
The coastguard posted on Facebook: "The vehicle's driver had been doing 'doughnuts' in the sand, the wheels had dug in and the vehicle rolled over.
"The initial call to our Rescue Coordination Centre at Holyhead did not say if persons were trapped inside, injured or how many casualties.
"The vehicle was a pollution risk at a site of Special Scientific Interest (SSI) and so Bay Search and Rescue were called to use their specialist all-terrain vehicles to right the car and tow it back above high water."
