UK cleaning company crashes into administration - specialised in schools
The Manchester-based cleaning company appointed administrators on Thursday (March 5).

In the latest collapse of a UK business amid trying times for the sector, Premiserv Ltd, a Manchester-based commercial cleaning and facilities management company, has appointed administrators on Thursday (March 5). The family-run business, which has been operating for over a decade, specialises in contract cleaning across various sectors, including education, offices and industry.
Opening in March 2014, Premiserv Ltd's headquarters are found on Palatine Road, Manchester and employed 130 staff as of 2024, down from 132 the previous year. However, on Thursday, The London Gazette published that Andrew David Rosler of Ideal Corporate Solutions Limited, based in Bolton, had been appointed as administrator for the business. Premiserv offers specialised services for offices, retail spaces and warehouses, as well as tailored cleaning for schools on either 39-week or 52-week contracts.

Premiserv maintains several industry-standard certifications, often required for high-level commercial and school contracts, including ISO 9001 (Quality), 14001 (Environmental), and 45001 (Health and Safety). It is also a member of The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc).
As of 2026, according to Companies House, the primary directors of Premiserv are James Hill and Cristina Hill, appointed in March and June 2014, respectively. According to the financial statements for the period from March 30, 2023, to March 31, 2024, the company's new assets increased slightly to £31,851 in 2024, up from £29,753 in 2023. Total fixed assets were valued at £57,672, consisting entirely of tangible assets, including £20,554 in short-leasehold land and buildings, £10,948 in furniture, fittings and equipment and £26,170 in motor vehicles.
Total current assets rose to £343,892. This includes £145,959 in debtors - down from £150,332 - and £197,933 in cash at bank and in hand, up from £141,605. As of March 2024, the company holds £341,321 in short-term liabilities, primarily consisting of debts to group undertakings, tax obligations and other creditors. Meanwhile, its long-term bank borrowings decreased to £28,392 and the company successfully cleared nearly £60,000 in other borrowings that existed the previous year.

On December 5, the company filed accounts for a 'Dormant company' covering the period to March 29, 2025. For the three years prior to this, Premiserv Ltd filed 'Total exemption full accounts', indicating it was an active trading small company.
The shift to dormant status suggests that the company is no longer actively trading under this specific entity, likely having moved its operations to Premiserv Holdings Limited.
The company also has several filings related to securing lending. On December 10, Companies House notes the registration of a charge with a court order to extend the filing deadline. This relates to a charge created on May 2, 2023. This often indicates a delay in administrative processing that requires legal intervention to rectify. Another previous charge, noted on May 27, 2023, is marked as "satisfied," indicating that a prior debt or loan secured against the company's assets was fully paid off.
