THE QUEEN will be a guest of honour at the much anticipated royal wedding but even though Prince Harry is close to her grandmother, the monarch is expected to give a certain part of the celebrations a miss.

But there are parts of the celebration the 91-year-old monarch is likely to miss.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl has said to the US Entertainment Tonight: “She has said to the couple ‘This is your wedding, this is your day. Plan it as you want it.'

“This is very generous because, don’t forget, the Queen is opening up her home.
“Don’t forget she’s hugely close to her grandson.
“They have a very special relationship. She is thrilled to be seeing Harry settle down and finally marry.
“She’s going to want to be a very important part of that day and indeed she will.:
However Ms Nicholl said the Queen is likely to give the dance floor a miss during the evening celebration.
The royal commentator said: “But I think when it comes to the evening reception and certainly the party, if the Spice Girls are performing then, I don’t think the Queen’s going to be on the dance floor.”

Spice Girls member Mel B sparked speculation that the Spice Girls would be performing at the wedding when she appeared on a US chat show.
The Queen’s cousin, Lady Elizabeth Anson, has revealed that the monarch is a “fantastic dancer” and enjoys music by Vera Lynn as well as Gary Barlow.

Speaking on BBC Radio 2, she said: “The Queen loves the theatre and musicals like Showboat, Oklahoma! and Annie Get Your Gun.
“The Queen is a fantastic dancer. She’s got great rhythm.”
