Royal delight at Ascot for Lady Louise
UNMISTAKABLY Windsor in every way, Lady Louise’s blossoming beauty was on display at the races yesterday.
Lady Louise, a keen rider, is dressed for the part at Ascot yesterday
The 11-year-old daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, appears to have inherited her mother’s good looks while also resembling her grandmother the Queen as a young girl.
The Wessex family were in the Royal Box for the Christmas racing weekend at Ascot, which has become synonymous with the royals thanks to their love of horses.
Joined by her seven-year-old brother James, Viscount Severn, Louise appeared engrossed in the jump racing.
At one point she was spotted with her head buried in a race card.
Both avid riders, the children keep their horses at Windsor Castle, just a short drive from the family home, Bagshot Park in Surrey.
Louise, a bridesmaid at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding in 2011, is especially close to the Queen, who regularly rides out with her youngest granddaughter at Windsor Great Park.
In 2012, Louise broke her left arm when she fell from a pony on the estate.
Last Christmas, Louise, who is 10th-in-line to the throne, had corrective eye surgery after being diagnosed with exotropia, a serious condition which turns one eye outwards, thought to have been a result of her difficult premature birth in November 2003.
