Queen Camilla wows in blue dress as she welcomes famous author to Clarence House
Queen Camilla held a meeting with a famous children's author to celebrate his new role in helping make books accessible to children.
Queen Camilla looked lovely in a blue and white summer dress today as she met the new Waterstones Children's Laureate Frank Cottrell-Boyce at Clarence House on Thursday.
The Queen, who wore a black cardigan with the smart dress, was all smiles as she posed for photographs with the well-known author.
The meeting comes after Frank Cottrell-Boyce, author of Millions, Framed, Cosmic and The Wonder Brothers, was appointed the position of Waterstones Children’s Laureate earlier this year.
The role is aimed at promoting and advocating for children’s right to read, write and access books.
Cottrell-Boyce previously said about the role: “I write children’s books because I think they help build the apparatus of happiness inside us. I’m going to do everything in my power to get reading as a right for all into the national conversation. Because it's about time."

The meeting comes less than a week after Queen Camilla attended the Book Aid International’s 70th anniversary.
Camilla, who became patron of Book Aid International in 2022, has been a strong supporter of the charity’s mission to provide books to communities where reading materials are scarce.
At the event, Camilla highlighted the importance of books in nurturing young minds and fostering a love of learning.
She said: “Reading has the power to open doors and bring joy, especially to children.”
