Princess Anne's rare 'gift of freedom' to Zara Tindall has helped cement their close bond
Princess Anne and Zara Tindall don't often do public appearances together. But their bond remains tight.
Princess Anne and only daughter Zara Tindall have lots of similarities, but the pair are not often pictured together.
That's because Zara is not a working member of the Royal Family while Princess Anne works primarily in a royal capacity, meaning the mother-daughter duo are often apart.
Regardless of their professional differences, the pair remain close and have a tight bond. They both have shared passions, for example horse riding.
Zara is an equestrian and Princess Anne also loves horses and makes appearances at many equestrian events, most recently at the Riding for the Disabled Association.
The mother and daughter also have other unspoken bonds. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, body language expert Judi James analysed the profound connection they share as mother and daughter.

The royal expert commented: "Sightings of these two women together are reasonably rare because Zara is not a working royal, meaning we tend to see them together at royal equine events like Ascot, or the biggest royal events like weddings and funerals.
"And when we do Anne will tend to be up there with the top tier in the royal Firm, while Zara and family will often arrive with the other family groups.
"When we see them at family gatherings though, a surprising side of Anne emerges as she fulfils the role of granny and mother rather than Princess. Normally serious and rather imposing she will show her tactile, fun side and the older she gets the more we see Zara, Mike and their children as well as Peter and his girls bring that side out."

And not working as a royal has been a gift from Princess Anne to Zara, said the expert.
She explained: "Both Zara and Anne had a formal, royal side to their upbringing but it was Zara who was given the gift of freedom from her mother when she made her a non-royal, while Anne has been a pillar of the Firm with a life of duty and hard work.
"When she was younger, Anne’s body language always showed her as her father’s daughter, with mirrored behaviours that revealed like-minded thinking. But both Anne and her mother had stoicism in their DNA, and as the two women got older they tended to dress alike and spend time together, using signals of shared humour like friends as well as mother and daughter."
