Prince Harry previously recalled how he shared a room with Prince William during their annual childhood trips to Balmoral, as the Duke is set to miss the annual tradition this year.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not expected to travel to Balmoral this month. Members of the Royal Family - such as the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children - are set to join King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Scottish estate next week.

The 39-year-old took to his memoir Spare - which was released last year - to recount the childhood memory.

The royal, who now resides in the US, wrote: "Balmoral had fifty bedrooms, one of which had been divided for me and Willy. Adults called it the nursery.

"Willy had the larger half, with a double bed, a good-sized basin, a cupboard with mirrored doors, a beautiful window looking down on the courtyard, the fountain, the bronze statue of a roe deer buck."

Speaking of his side of the room, Harry penned: "My half of the room was far smaller, less luxurious. I never asked why.

"I didn’t care. But I also didn’t need to ask. Two years older than me, Willy was the Heir, whereas I was the Spare."

The father of two also discussed his own opinion of the Balmoral estate, whilst comparing it to 'Disney World'.

Harry wrote: "To me, Balmoral was always simply paradise. A cross between Disney World and some sacred Druid grove. I was always too busy fishing, shooting, running up and down 'the hill' to notice anything off about the Feng Shui of the old castle. What I'm trying to say is, I was happy there."

Express.co.uk exclusively revealed last month that Harry and Meghan had been snubbed of another invite to Balmoral this year.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not been invited to the royal family's summer gathering in the Scottish Highlands for a number of years.

While Harry travelled to Balmoral as a child, it's believed that Meghan has never visited the Scottish castle. This likely means that Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, have also never spent time with their family at the estate.
