Meghan’s 'last laugh': Duchess aims for 'likeable and quirky' in new coffee advert
EXCLUSIVE Meghan stars in a marketing video for Clevr Blends coffee, where she takes on three roles, but royals expert Kinsey Schofield isn't buying it.
Meghan Markle stars in ad for coffee company Clevr
Meghan Markle was recently spotted in a coffee advert, which was just shared via Clevr Blends’ Instagram page.
Three years ago, Meghan came across the “better-for-you coffee” brand and became their “first investor, advisor and Clevr advocate,” says Clevr co-founder Hannah Mendoza in the Insta video.
In the video, Hannah gives a shout out to her employees, thanking them for their hard work, and then we see Meghan in every scene that follows, working in fulfillment, digital and resilience operations.
If this were in fact the case, that Meghan was contributing to all three teams, it’d be quite impressive, but it’s not, it’s a marketing scheme.
Daily Express US reached out to royals and pop culture expert Kinsey Schofield to ask about the advert, with Kinsey saying its Meghan’s attempt to “have the last laugh” and come across as “likable and quirky,” which Kinsey deems… a fail.

Kinsey talks about the timing of the video, saying, “This is definitely Meghan trying to have the last laugh after months of bad press and being called one of The Hollywood Reporter’s Biggest Losers.”
Meghan is an investor in Clevr, but Kinsey thinks there's more to it, as to why Meghan participated in the video, saying, “From a PR standpoint, I do think she is attempting to look likable and quirky, but you can't help but notice that the idea of a duchess being an intern borders on condescending in this financial climate.”
“She should be more considerate of what she chooses to pursue for media attention going forward so she's not deemed the Patronizing Princess.”

Meghan is an actress, but this isn’t quite acting, as she’s in the background and doesn’t speak or face the camera. In the last scene, she does turn toward the camera and bursts into laughter, breaking character and breaking the fourth wall, which is a big no-no when it comes to acting.
Kinsey talks about the quality of the video, saying, “I've seen other outlets proclaim that this is Meghan's big return to acting, but I disagree.”
“I believe that this is proof that Meghan is comfortable being an influencer. This is low level content creation, similar to what she did while building The Tig," referring to Meghan's lifestyle blog.
