Kate, the Princess of Wales's unblemished record as a senior member of the Royal Family comes with significant benefits.
While she faced initial criticism at the start of her royal career, Kate has since emerged as one of the most committed and trustworthy members of the institution.
And it is her hard work through most of the year that ensures she is afforded a certain level of privilege when it comes to taking care of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
PR expert Eddie Coram James told Daily Express US noted the Princess of Wales has widely avoided scandal since her marriage to Prince William – a record that secured her a bit more freedom when it comes to not attending official engagements.
Kate stayed home last month when the Prince of Wales headed to New York to attend the annual Earthshot Prize summit.

And she is set to skip the prize's actual award ceremony in Singapore next month to remain with George, Charlotte and Louis in England.
Coram James said: "The Princess of Wales has remained broadly controversy-free for years.
"She’s kept her head down, not made a fuss, worked hard and dedicated herself to good causes. Given the context, of course, the press has given her a free pass to the benefit of the doubt.
"When she says she wants to miss Earthshot to focus on parenting, people trust that that is probably the case."
The GoUp founder said Kate and William's response to multiple attacks by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in recent years have also contributed to winning them public support.

Despite the several allegations the Duke and Duchess of Sussex levelled at them since quitting the institution, the Prince and Princess of Wales have remained silent and continued to focus on their job.
He added: "Because of their ‘keep calm and carry on’ approach, and by not rising or taking the bait, the efforts backfired, and the Wales’s arguably came out looking better than ever.
"As the public broadly sympathised with them and felt that their response showed poise, maturity and dignity, they not only rode the storm but flew above it.
"And, because the Wales’s have not had a controversial year, but instead have just kept their heads down and focused on work, the public is more than happy to allow them some time off to focus on being good parents."
