Kate’s ‘nod’ to Meghan Markle spotted as Duchess emulates sister-in-law’s ‘casual’ look
KATE, the Duchess of Cambridge may have been making a "little nod" to her sister-in-law Meghan Markle during one of her appearances on her trip to Scotland, according to royal commentators.

Royal watchers have picked up on a potential "nod" to Meghan Markle from Kate. The Duchess of Cambridge had visited her alma mater, the University of St Andrews, as part of a weeklong trip to Scotland with Prince William. Royally Obsessed podcast host Rachel Bowie discussed the future queen consort's style.
She told listeners: "Kate wore a nautical look on their visit to St Andrews.
"I loved the striped fisherman sweater, which was Erdem.
"She had the black double-breasted blazer from Holland Cooper, which is a British brand.
"And she was wearing the Veja trainers."

Ms Bowie continued: "I felt like that was a little bit of a nod to Meghan Markle.
"My initial Veja moment came from Meghan.
"When she wore them to the Invictus Games in Sydney.
"I love Kate in her trainer moments."

The host added: "It was a very classy look on top.
"But she made it casual with the trainers."
Meghan made an impact with her Veja trainers during her and Prince Harry's 2018 Australia tour.
According to Lyst’s Year in Fashion Report, Instagram searches for the shoes increased by 113 percent that year.

The Duchess wore the brand's signature 'Esplar' style which cost around £90 a pair.
Kate also donned the Esplar version but in a pink colour.
The trainers are sustainably made from organic cotton, wild rubber from the Amazon, vegetable-tanned leather and recycled plastic bottles.
This proved to be significant as Kate and William planted a tree in St Andrews.
