Queen Mother 'clashed with Margaret over royalty' says expert
Princess Margaret used to exploit the "big chip on [her mother's] shoulder" during arguments, according to royal commentators. The "rows" between the two women were discussed as part of a new Channel 5 documentary about the Queen Mother. Her reluctance for the then Princess Elizabeth to become involved with Prince Philip was analysed.
Lady Colin Campbell told viewers: "[The Queen Mother] had a big chip on her shoulder about not having been born royal.
"Princess Margaret even used to throw that back in her face whenever they had rows.
"She pointed out to her that for all her airs and graces, she was not royal and would never be.
"That was really rather mean of Princess Margaret."
