PRINCESS DIANA's close friend and voice coach has praised Meghan Markle's "courage" during her Oprah Winfrey interview, going on to compare the Duchess of Sussex's 'spirit' with her late mother-in-law.
Meghan Markle's 'courage' praised by Princess Diana's friend
One of Princess Diana’s close friends has claimed that Meghan Markle is a lot like the late royal. Voice coach Stewart Peace spoke out to The Sun about the two women, describing similarities in their "courage". The expert compared the Duchess of Sussex’s recent bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey to the Princess of Wales' infamous sit down with Martin Bashir.
Mr Pearce also picked up the similarity of the difficulty of assimilating into the monarchy that both women claimed to have experienced.
He told Us Weekly: "What was extraordinary from the very beginning, from 1981, is that [Diana] was really not given a tremendous amount of advice.
"It's sort of within the royal family.
"It's assumed you will either grow through it, or, you know, [you'll sink]."

"But, being the smart woman that she is, she really made a lot of inquiries.
"Whereas Diana, I feel that she was so in love with Charles that she thought that he would assist her."

Diana spoke about her struggles in the Royal Family during her candid BBC interview.
However, the Panorama special has now come under fire after a recent inquiry into how the Princess of Wales was convinced to speak to them.
A report by Lord Dyson found that the BBC "fell short of its high standards for integrity" in securing the interview.
The findings also accused Mr Bashir of "deceitful behaviour".
Both Mr Bashir and the Director-General of the BBC, Tim Davie, have issued apologies in the wake of the fallout.
