Princess Diana's brother shares heartbreaking 'family duty' he carries out every year
PRINCESS DIANA's brother Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, publicly shared what his "first family duty" is every August 31.

Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer took to Twitter to publicly mark the 23rd anniversary of the death of his sister. Sharing a picture of the Spencer Family's flag lowered to half-mast, the earl added: "My first family duty on 31 August. Never forgotten."
Tributes to Diana have been paid both online and at the gates of Kensington Palace, where many royal fans left letters and flowers to remember the late Princess of Wales.
Others shared on social media their own experience with Diana.
Twitter user Dave Seow published a picture of the Princess of Wales holding a bouquet of white flowers.
He added: "She was so incredibly kind to me when I met her.
"Class, dignity, compassion & grace. She will always be missed. Never forgotten."
Several social media users also recalled how they felt when they learned the news of Diana's fatal car crash in Paris.
Twitter user NinaLuna, commenting the earl's touching picture, said: "I think of her so often and every year when August rolls around the days tick off so quickly and here are again on the saddest of days.

"I remember every detail of where I was....we felt here in the US very deeply.
"Very few make such an impact on so many. Diana was that rarity".
Another Twitter user with the nickname Nutcracker 1 said: "Still remember vividly the day that news of her death was announced.
"Couldn’t believe it. Truly ‘the People’s Princess’.
"Never seen such mass national grief and so many floral tributes.
"Her funeral was so sad and moving. Unimaginable grief for Prince William and Harry. Particularly latter."
Another, Diana U, recalled her emotional visit to the Spencer residence in Northamptonshire, saying: "I adored Diana, my namesake, and still do.
"A beautiful woman inside and out - and like all of us, complex and flawed.
"I have such bittersweet memories of visiting Althorp in 2002 and walking around the beautiful lake where she is buried.
"Rest in peace, Diana".
The day after the televised ceremony held at Westminster Abbey in London on September 6 1997, Princess Diana was laid to rest on an island within the grounds of Althorp Park.
Prince Charles, Harry, William as well as Diana's siblings and her mother were among those who attended the burial.
The Diana Award, the organisation proudly backed by Harry and William which carries on the legacy of the Princess of Wales by supporting projects of outstanding young people, also remembered the princess in a touching way.
The association wrote on Twitter: "On the anniversary of Princess Diana’s death today, our Legacy Award Recipients have come together virtually to perform a special song in memory of Princess Diana and her belief that young people have the power to change the world. Enjoy!"
