Meghan Markle split: Duchess finds Kate and other royals 'weird’ for not hugging - claim
MEGHAN MARKLE revealed she the Royal Family's standoffishness "weird" - especially Kate, who was described as "uptight", a source has claimed.
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton ‘growing apart’ says expert
A source close to the Duchess of Sussex said she finds it strange “no one hugs” and said the Royal Family was “uptight”. The source, part of the Duchess of Sussex’ inner circle, told the Daily Mail: “It’s still weird to her that no one hugs and that everyone is so uptight, especially Kate.”
The unnamed friend said Meghan opened up on about her last public meeting with Kate and Prince William at the Commonwealth Day service.
The source continued: “She said it’s obvious that Kate and William do not approve of their choices and that you could cut the tension with a knife.
“Kate barely even looked at her and their interaction was kept to a bare minimum.”
This distance strengthen Meghan’s conviction she and Harry had made the right choice to step down as senior royals and choose a more independent life, the source added.
This alleged lack of warmth within the palaces’ walls appeared not to be compatible with the way the Duchess of Sussex wants to bring up her son Archie Harrison.
The source said: “She said [the trip] has been a confirmation that they made the right choice in parting ways.
“There’s no warmth between the family members and she wants to raise Archie in a household that is filled with laughter and joy and lots of hugs.”

Meghan and Harry publicly met on Monday for the first time since mid-November Kate, William, Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and the Wessexes.
The Sussexes arrived at Westminster Abbey shortly before the Cambridges.
However, there were little to no interactions between the two couples, with Meghan and Harry simply nodding and saying ‘hello’ to their close relatives as they were taking their seats ahead of the ceremony.
Meghan is said to have flown back to Canada to rejoin her son Archie.
Prince Harry, according to the Daily Telegraph, will remain in the UK for a few more days to hold private meetings.
Meghan said she didn’t mean to “intentionally keep away” her son from the rest of the Royal Family, the source claimed.
However, she feels “relieved” he didn’t travel across the pond with her.
The source added: “She said it’s not like she was intentionally keeping [Archie] away, but it made no sense to bring him and put him in harm’s way.”
Meghan returned to Canada while the coronavirus outbreak continues to grip Europe.
The Duchess of Sussex briefly touched upon the virus, labelled a pandemic by the World Health Organisation yesterday.
According to the source, Meghan confessed she “hasn’t had the time to fully educate herself” on the coronavirus outbreak, but she deems the situation “alarming”.
They added: “Regardless, Meghan said the whole thing is alarming and that she’ll be glad to get home and be with Archie”.
