Royal fans hailed the Duchess as “relatable" after she was spotted with George and Charlotte in a Norfolk Sainsbury’s. Kate was buying Halloween costumes for her children when she was seen at the self-service checkouts between 11am and noon on Thursday. Kathy Whittaker couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw the Duchess accompanied by a six foot bodyguard who lingered close by.
She told the MailOnline: “Another shopper said that Kate was in the shop near the clothing and pointed where she was to me. I just couldn't believe it!
“She was with Charlotte and George looking at Halloween outfits but her bodyguard was kind of watching people with phones and telling them no pictures.”
She added: “I managed to get the photo as she was at the self service check out.
“I didn't see what she actually bought. The lady that told me she was there had children with her and she said Kate was asking her children what they were going to be for Halloween.
“I think she bought some Halloween bits for her kids but I don't know what.”
Ms Whittaker, from Norwich, said Kate seemed "down to earth" and looked "beautiful as always".
Charlotte, and George, six, followed their mother closely as they walked through the shop.
Ms Whittaker added: "It was so lovely to see her doing normal stuff that you and I do.
