Kate arrived at the RHS event to join school children for outdoor activities in her ‘Back to Nature’ garden a day before doors open to the public.
Her garden's centrepiece is a high-platform tree house atop a chestnut trunk, clad in stag horn oak, hazel and larch cladding that draws inspiration from a bird or animal nest.
Co-created alongside landscape architects Andree Davies and Adam White and the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), Kate's garden aims to highlight the benefits the natural world brings to mental and physical well-being.
The space, which Kate hopes will inspire families "to get outside" and "enjoy nature", features a tree house, swing seat, waterfall, rustic den and a campfire as well as tree stumps, stepping stones and a hollow log for children to play on.
Kate played with schoolchildren in a woodland-themed garden at the event, helping youngsters connect with the natural world.
She helped the children from local London schools build miniature rafts to race down a waterfall feature, roast marshmallows on a campfire, and also chatted to them about nature in a tree house.
Speaking to teachers, Kate said: "It's really important the kids start to understand nature, and care for it, so they can protect it as well.
"With Instagram everything is so visual. It's nice to sit and feel."
The Duchess was photographed getting to grips with her garden, climbing the treehouse focal point of her garden casually as she encouraged youngsters to embrace their green sides.
On Sunday, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis spent almost an hour playing in their mother's garden, as shown in six candid images released by Kensington Palace.

In a newly-released photo from Kensington Palace, Kate, 37, was seen playfully posing on a rope swing hanging from a tree - with Diana’s favourite flowers growing in the background ina nod to the People's Princess.
Bunches of blue forget-me-nots are featured in the green space as a touching tribute to the late Diana who had been fond of the flowers.
According to Diana’s younger brother, Earl Spencer, the flowers became her favourite after he gifted her with a bunch during their childhood.
Sean Harking, head gardener at Kensington Palace, told Vogue: “Earl Spencer, Princess Diana’s bother, gave some forget-me-nots to her when they were younger.
“They stayed with her as one of her favourite flowers.”
Catherine, who is a fan of the outdoors spent 20 hours last week putting her natural space together.
The garden includes a campfire, a tree house, a waterfall and a stream.
