Duchess of drama! Camilla to celebrate theatre at Olivier Awards next month
THE Duchess of Cornwall is set to celebrate theatre by attending the Olivier Awards next month.
Prince Charles and Camilla arrive in Cuba for royal visit
Camilla will make an appearance at the awards, the biggest night in British theatre, on April 7. The event is being held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. During the evening, Camilla, 71, will enjoy performances from Disney’s The Lion King and The Tina Turner Musical.
Comedian Jason Manford will host the ceremony and Eastenders star Danny Dyer and actor Tom Hiddleston are among those who will present awards.
Other stars on the presenting line-up include Sally Field, Kelsey Grammer, Gloria Estefan, Zawe Ashton, Joanne and Kevin Clifton, Art Malik, Katharine McPhee, Wendell Pierce, Bill Pullman, Shane Richie and Harriet Scott.
Beverley Knight will perform during the memorial section, which honours those in the theatre industry who have died over the past year.
The awards will also be broadcast worldwide on Facebook for theatre fans.
It comes as Camilla is currently on the Cuban leg of her 12-day overseas tour with Prince Charles.
The royal couple made history last night as the first members of the royal family to visit the communist country.
Charles and Camilla kicked off their first full day in Cuba with a walking tour of Old Havana.
The duchess looked elegant in a light blue dress, carrying a pretty white parasol to ward off the sun.
Charles, 70, was smart as ever in a grey suit which he teamed with a pair of trendy sunglasses.
The couple also visited Cuban ballet star Carlos Acosta’s dance company where they watched two performances and Charles met fighters at the Rafael Trejo gym.
Charles and Camilla have already travelled to St Lucia, Barbados, St Vincent and the Grenadines, St Kitts and Nevis, and Grenada.
They will finish the busy tour on March 29 in the Cayman Islands.
