Prince George saved the Royals during Australia tour says expert

Prince George, who turned five years old this summer, has won legions of fans at home and abroad for his cheeky good nature and adorable looks. In 2016 Amazon Prime documentary “William & Kate: The Journey”, royal expert Robert Jobson reveals “the truly amazing” response when the little prince wowed the adoring public on his first royal tour. He took his first trip to Australia and New Zealand at only eight months old.

The royal family’s popularity soared throughout the visit, in large part thanks to the adorable Prince.

He was so popular that the Australian press dubbed him the “republican slayer”, says Jobson.

The republicanism movement in Australia seeks to abolish the constitutional monarchy.

As third in line to the throne, the future King George will eventually be the head of state for both Australia and New Zealand.

Jobson also reveals that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were “nervous” before the big trip.

They “knew it was going to be huge,” he says.

"However, no one was prepared for the Prince’s reception to be as huge as it was.”

The documentary also includes charming footage of the little Prince at Taronga Zoo in Sydney, where he opens an exhibit alongside his mum and dad.

He is given a cuddly toy animal, which he cheekily throws to the ground.

There are also rumours that the growing Cambridge family may be set to welcome another little royal, as bookies take bets that the Duchess may be expecting.
