EU Summit: Boris Johnson wants to deliver says Bettel
The Prime Minister has secured a majority in a landslide election victory. But Xavier Bettel believes this is due to pro-EU voters have "had enough" of the Brexit impasse. He said during the EU Summit this week: “The clarity is not only for us, it’s for the UK citizens. "I’d be so upset not to know since June 23. It’s crazy that they didn’t know.
"I’m sure a lot of Remainers voted for Boris Johnson because they are fed up of not knowing what is going to happen and they want to just finish, faster, finite. They wanted clarification.
"That’s why they voted and gave a majority to someone.
"They have had enough discussions, we need to deliver and at least have a clear position.”
“I really appreciate him as a person. I don’t always shared the same political views. We had a good discussion in Luxembourg which we were not able to present to the press.”
His words come after Mr Bettel blasted Mr Johnson earlier this year for failed to turn up to his own press conference with him in September.
Mr Bettel spoke to the press without the British prime minister by standing next to an empty podium.
