Keir Starmer arrives at Downing Street

Sir Keir Starmer has begun appointing his first-ever Cabinet, after entering Downing Street as Prime Minister.

After promising to rebuild trust in politics and restore hope to the nation, Sir Keir will officially form his A team for Government.

It’s expected that there will be few big changes from his current Shadow Cabinet, with Rachel Reeves becoming the UK’s first-ever female chancellor.

There are numerous top Labour MPs already in Downing Street, and we're keenly awaiting official announcements after HM The King gives his approval.

The Prime Minister can appoint 21 paid cabinet ministers, and 109 paid junior ministers.

Stay tuned for all Sir Keir's appointments.
