Nigel Farage erupted at the UK's first past the post electoral system at a Reform UK press conference today.

The Reform UK leader has been elected to Parliament for the first time after winning the seat of Clacton in Essex.

His candidates won a total of four Parliamentary seats in his party's best-ever result. But that was under the UK's first past the post system.

Under proportional representation, Reform UK would have enjoyed much more success winning a huge 93 seats.

Railing against the UK's current political system the Brexiteer firebrand said: "It is very much my view that our outdated first past the post system is not fit for purpose!"

He went on to vow to campaign against it to rapturous applause from the crowd.

He said: "And we will campaign with anyone and everyone to change this electoral system.

"The results show there is absolutely no enthusiasm for Starmer's Labour whatsoever!"

"And it was interesting to watch Starmer speak outside Number 10 in his first Prime Ministerial address and look down at his notes over 150 times."

Mr Farage then had the audience in stitches as he mocked Sir Keir Starmer for checking his notes during the address.

He continued: "Once every 2.8 seconds," then put his head downwards to the delight of the crowd.

"Now I do not think these people with me need a script because they know what they believe in!

"And let me promise you something: we are going to be the voice of opposition around the country."
