While winter calls for fleece and flannel sheets to keep us warm, cooler materials like cotton and linen are more appropriate for fairer weather. It's also a great time to add some fun patterns, like florals or gingham in the mix, or try some fun details like embroidery and frills.
We've rounded up our top picks from retailers like Dusk, Habitat, M&S and TBCo below, featuring spring designs and colours to brighten up any space, with prices starting from £20. The ones that caught our attention are made from cooler materials, and there are both patterned and more minimal designs to choose from.

This Cotton Stripe Bedding Set from Habitat comes in three shades – blue, green, and cream – and prices start from £20 for a single. A double costs £24, a king sells for £28, and a super king set will set you back £32.
This is great value considering the duvet set is made from 100% cotton. Each set comes with two Oxford pillowcases (one for a single), and the duvet cover has button closures at the bottom for an extra-neat look.
If you want to try a pattern but don't love florals, stripes might be a good choice as they are pretty much a neutral – they're easy to mix and match with solid colours, and even clash with some patterns if you're feeling adventurous.

One side is printed with a cute blue and green floral, and the reverse is striped, for a more subtle look. Both the duvet cover and the pillowcases feature a cute ruffle trim, giving them a rustic charm.
The set is made from 100% cotton, and the retailer says it doesn't need to be ironed. Each set comes with one or two matching pillowcases, depending on the size, and prices start at £29.50 for a single. It's also available in a double (£39.50), king (£49.50) and super king (£59).
Shoppers loved the design, with one commenting: "This is beautiful bedding, looks really lovely. Nice to have a colour/design that is just a little different."
Another wrote: "It is great quality and looks more expensive than it is. Lovely frill detail. Not over the top and not a busy pattern you could get bored with."

It's made from 100%, 200-thread cotton percale, which is folded neatly across the fabric to create delicate pintucks. This design is not available in a single size, but a double costs £30, a king £35 and a super king £35. Each set comes with two matching pillowcases that share the pintuck design.
Dusk customers are loving the bedding, with one writing: "It looks and feels expensive but is so reasonably priced. I’m about to order another set!"
Another said: "Looks crisp on the bed – it does have a creased sort of look, but I like it. My husband says our bed looks like a boutique hotel one now! Really pleased with the look of the pin tucks."
