Dunelm slashes the price of 'excellent' shoe rack to under £30 in clearance sale
When thinking about smart storage solutions, a shoe rack is rarely the first thing that comes to mind – until you're stumbling over shoes that have been carelessly left in the way. Shoppers who want their space to look neater can snap up a shoe rack reduced to under £30 in Dunelm's clearance sale.
The retailer's Bamboo Shoe Rack originally cost £40 but has been discounted by 30%, bringing the price down to £28, reports the Liverpool Echo. It comes in a white or natural finish, and both are included in the discount.
The shoe rack is made from bamboo, which makes it strong yet lightweight enough to move if needed. It's also quite compact, measuring 70.2cm across, 22.2cm wide, and 80cm high. This means it's ideal for smaller spaces as it can be neatly placed in tight corners, and is slim enough not to block entryways and hallways. But it's also a great option for the bedroom, as it can keep slippers and shoes neat and out of the way.
The two lower shelves can accommodate roughly six pairs of shoes, which may be worth considering if you plan on using it for more. The third shelf, at the top, has a bit more depth, making it a perfect place for your keys and sunglasses, or for keeping post.
Dunelm customers are leaving positive reviews online, with one review saying: "Great design. Great shoe rack. Sturdy. Particularly like the dust tray."
Another shopper called it an "excellent buy", adding: "I've had the 'where can I keep my husband's shoes in the porch' problem for ages! I'd even thought about making a shoe rack myself, but then I saw this on the Dunelm site. It arrived promptly and was very easy to assemble."
A third wrote: "Does the job and looks nice. Pretty easy to put together and looks nice in the hallway, slim profile. Hopefully, the open shelves will make everyone remember to put shoes there instead of on the floor."
However, one shopper said it's not the strongest, writing: "I would say it’s not very robust, so maybe wouldn’t stand up to anything heavy put on it, but for what I wanted, it fits the bill."
Another potential downside is the size, as it only fits around six pairs of shoes. If you like bamboo buy would prefer more space, Dunelm also sells a seven-tier shoe rack that might fit the bill.
Shop more shoe storage
If you'd rather keep the shoes out of sight, a cabinet might be a better option.
This Argos one has four shelves, with space for around 10 pairs of shoes. They are kept behind cabinet doors that pop open.
It's 87cm high, 66.8 wide and 24.4cm deep.
It comes in white or grey, with silver handles.
If you have a bit more space, a shoe bench can be a great alternative.
Measuring 45cm high and 73 x 30cm, it has three levels. The bottom two are made of metal and can hold up to eight pairs of shoes, while the top is a bench made of wood.
There is also a longer 100cm version, and shoppers can choose between three colourways combining steel and wood.
It's a great option for people who prefer to put on and take off their shoes at the door, and would be a great help for elderly people or those with mobility issues.
