A gardening fan has shared a hack to boost plant growth using a unique homemade fertiliser - and fellow green-fingered online users are excited to try it out.

A green-fingered guru has revealed a game-changing gardening hack that promises to supercharge your plants, and it's all about a special homemade concoction.

Carmen Johnston took to Facebook to unveil the remarkable results she's achieved with 'banana peel water', claiming it has worked wonders for her garden, particularly in boosting herb growth.

She swears by its effectiveness for flowers, vegetables, and tomatoes as well.

Carmen shared her secret: "I want to share a tip with everyone. I am feeding them with banana peel water.

"Take two banana peels and soak overnight in a gallon of water. Water your plants with the banana peel water. It's full of potassium and more. You can use it on veggies, flowers, herbs.

"Does not need to be refrigerated. I keep a jug going all the time and keep adding water as I use it up. I also throw in peels as I eat them.

"The peels turn brown and you can discard them after you've added more peils. It's a great organic fertilizer.

"This is good on veggies, herbs, flowers and tomatoes. I am using it on my green pepper too.

"My spearmint plant is huge as well and so is my dill is waist-high. I have so many green cherry tomatoes and beautiful green peppers.", reported the Mirror.

The innovative tip has set social media abuzz, garnering over 2,000 comments from intrigued gardeners.

Christie Helen exclaimed: "Yay finally a use for bananas I bought, looked at but didn't eat."

Banana peel can also be used to encourage roses and hydrangeas to grow thanks to the vitamins and nutrients found in them.
