Shoppers have praised this bargain fire pit, available from Amazon, as looking great in 'any garden' it's a doddle to set up and will be a lifesaver in summer.

If you're lucky enough to have an outdoor area and you don't have a lovely fire feature to elongate your summer evenings, what are you doing? Well, it's fair to say that fire pits have a reputation for being a bit of an extravagance, which makes the price of this one all the more persuasive. It's from Yaheetech, and you can pick it up on Amazon for just £73.99

It isn't one of those open fire pits that require a whole load of work on your part to keep things under control - it's got a lovely enclosed grille that means its flames aren't totally open, as well as a waterproof cover for storage between uses. Best of all, you can add a grille to make the pit suitable for barbecuing - this grille is not included, though.

Size-wise, it's 80cm on each side, and about 35cm tall (50cm with the lid on), so it's not too massive. This should make it easy to fit into most gardens or patios, there is also a larger size available if you have the space.

The fire pit is sitting on a 4.4-star average on Amazon after around 1,200 reviews, which underlines that it should be a solid choice. One person highlighted how simple it was to assemble the fire pit themselves: "Great product, easy to assemble and very strong and sturdy."

That's reassuring since self-assembly can sometimes be a risky business. Another reviewer was similarly succinct in their praise: "Looks great in any garden, good price".

If you find more mixed reviews you'll see that some people have tempered their praise with a couple of complaints, though, like this verdict: "It is easy to assemble and looks good but the grill supplied can't be used as it is so small it would have no support and would sit directly on the coals.

"The protective cover tore after a few days and the seems began splitting so that's no good either."

This highlights a slight theme among the reviews, with one person complaining that theirs "didn't come with BBQ grill". As explained by another more upset reviewer, this is covered by the item's description: "Not happy with the advertising of this item, it is clearly sold as a three-in-one product and has several photos of it being used as a BBQ.

"On unpacking I was disappointed to find it did not contain the cooking grate even though it is clearly shown in the photos. The description does say it is not included but I didn't see that until double-checking."

So, be sure that you know you won't get a grille included when you buy this fire pit, but if that's not a major concern then you should have a great time with the Yaheetech fire pit

If you want to invest more cash a premium option is the LG Outdoor Casa Mio Chiminea Firepit, available from John Lewis for £329. There are also cheaper options too, the La Hacienda Fire Basket, which is just £27 from B&Q - although it might not look quite as impressive as the Yaheetech.
