'I made the best margarita at home and it was so simple to make - absolutely delicious'
A fan of a well-made margarita, I crafted one at home with little fuss thanks to a superb readymade spirit mixture.
On an evening out, it's very like me to order a margarita, but I have tasted some catastrophes in my lifetime.
Only recently while celebrating a friend's birthday, a bartender served me a margarita with no salted rim or lime - just a margarita mix in a short glass.
After asking for the appropriate corrections, the surly bartender came up with a more traditional offering.
I wish that was my only bad experience, but I have tasted margaritas that made it clear the mixologist didn't know what they were doing.
A classic margarita requires tequila, triple sec (an orange-flavoured liqueur), lime juice, lime wedges, salt and ice.
Already having a cocktail shaker at home, I thought I'd try to make a margarita with a twist.
For my drink, I sampled Neurita Picante with Tequila – a readymade mixture that includes spicy agave with natural red chilli pepper and tangerine infusions.
The premium-flavoured tequila (retailing for £31.99) only requires the addition of fresh lime and agave syrup to make a spicy margarita.

"Rim glass with salt, garnish with jalapeno for extra spice," the bottle reads.
To make the salt rim, all I did was twist the coupe's rim, which had been rubbed with a cut-opened lime, into a side plate that had salt poured onto it.
In less than five minutes, I had crafted the best-tasting margarita at home - so spicy and delicious.
One sip was heavenly - I was so pleased the margarita mix tasted just like a margarita should.
Overjoyed, the drink went down a treat and it most definitely will become a staple in my household.
Fond of hosting girly evenings, Neurita tequila mixes will be a part of my offerings - especially as there are more readymade spirits to choose from.
There's Neurita Tequila Rosa which is infused with raspberry, strawberry and pomegranate for a more sweet, fruity mixture.
And Neurita Tequila Blanco which has Sicilian Orange for a more citrusy flavour. Think I will have to try them all.
