Petrol and diesel owners could save £268 in 2024 by taking a new approach
Drivers could save hundreds of pounds at the petrol station this year by following a unique tip when filling up their vehicles.
Petrol and diesel drivers could save a staggering £268 per year on fuel in 2024 by changing their approach to topping up, according to experts.
Specialists at Hippo Leasing have warned that simply shopping around for the best deals could dramatically reduce final bills.
Analysis shows that finding the best offers in the area could save road users up to £16.77 per tank of petrol.
The average motorist fully fills up their tank around 16 times per year meaning staggering savings can be made.
Over the course of 12 months, drivers are likely to have kept hundreds of pounds in their pocket with predictions putting this at around £268.32.
Tom Preston, Managing Director and automotive expert at Hippo Leasing said extending a trip to reach better prices would pay off.
He explained: “Don’t wait for your dashboard light to flash to tell you to fill up.
“It will cost you on average 29p to drive an extra few miles to a cheaper station in the area. This would be worthwhile if the savings on pence per litre are dramatic enough.”
Those interested in finding the best offers nearby can usually find these on online apps such as PetrolPrices.
