Ronnie Corbett dead: Tributes pour in for legendary comedian
TRIBUTES have been flooding in for comedian Ronnie Corbett after he died today at the age of 85.

Many took to social media to celebrate the veteran entertainer including big names from the world of film and television.
Hollywood star Russell Crowe wrote: “And it's good night from Ronnie Corbett . Thanks for all the laughs mate.”
The Office star Ricky Gervais posted: “RIP the lovely, funny legend Ronnie Corbett. It was an absolute honour & joy to have known him.”
“So sad to hear the news about Ronnie Corbett, I've always loved his work. .. A true legend , my thoughts are with his family xx,” posted The Great British Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood.

After the announcement was made, This Morning star Ruth Langsford paid tribute on the ITV1 programme, saying: Obviously one half of the two Ronnies, him and Ronnie barker - that’s the end of an era, isn't it? Obviously our thoughts are with his family. We're so, so sorry to hear that.”
“Incredible genius. I know a lot of comics nowadays base a lot of their material on their humour,” added Gok Wan.

Ronnie Corbett was known to generations for his comedy
Tony Hall, director-general of the BBC, said: "Ronnie Corbett was a wonderful comic and entertainer. A man of great charm and warmth who brought laughter and joy to millions. He was quite simply one of the true greats of British comedy. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time."
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn tweeted: "Ronnie Corbett was a giant of British entertainment who was loved by millions. He will be dearly missed. Our thoughts are with his family."
Comedian David Walliams said: "Goodbye my friend and comedy idol £RonnieCorbett Thank you for all the laughs. It was the greatest honour to know and work with you."

The Apprentice star Lord Alan Sugar tweeted: "Sad news about Ronnie Corbett, very funny man R.I.P," while Omid Djalili added: "And now Ronnie Corbett. What an absolutely delightful man. Sad sad news RIP."
Jack Whitehall also tweeted: "RIP Ronnie Corbett, what a brilliant and funny man he was."
A statement from Corbett's publicist said: "Ronnie Corbett CBE, one of the nation's best-loved entertainers, passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family.
"They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very sad time."
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Anne Hart, who he married in 1965, and the couple's two daughters, actresses Emma and Sophie Corbett. He and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year.
