Strictly Come Dancing will finally make its highly anticipated comeback to BBC tonight with a major return from two professional dancers.

In 2022, Aljaz Skorjanec announced his departure from the show after almost 10 years on the dancefloor.

This came after reports of an incident with another dancer, which his representatives slammed and insisted were “untrue”.

Thankfully for fans, the Slovenian native will make his eagerly awaited return to Strictly to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary milestone.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Aljaz opened up about the series 22 launch and hinted at an “amazing” season.

The dancer shared: “The celebration of Strictly has always been this glitzy, glamorous, Saturday night, two hours of escaping the world.

“We all have stuff going on through the week and how nice it is to sit down for a couple of hours and just forget about it all.

“Strictly has been that for so many people, millions around the country, it’s amazing how many people love and support Strictly.”

Aljaz continued: “I think that this year is going to be a testament to that. We do it for everyone that enjoys it and it's always been that from the beginning.”

The 34-year-old added: “I joined when Sir Bruce Forsyth was still a part of the show and Strcitly has evolved every single year.

“And I think this year is not going to be any different and the numbers that we have rehearsed and recorded, the production value this year steps up massively.”

Aljaz teased: “The stuff we can do with lighting, with projections, even the music; how it’s done, how it's edited it's been brilliant.

Reflecting on his exit, he continued: “I stepped away for two years and I wasn’t part of the creative process of it all, I just became a number one fan of it all.

“It’s a privilege to be a part of and I think it’s going to be an amazing season."
