Judy Murray delights judges during Strictly's Christmas Special

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left in a frenzy after Anton Du Beke met with Andy Murray for a round of golf. The Scottish tennis player has recently retired professionally from the sport after a glittering 19-year career.

Taking a selfie, an image was posted on Judy Murray's official Instagram account and shows a smiling Andy alongside Anton. She added the caption: "These two are on the same team at the @bmwpga Pro Am at Wentworth today."

This generated a lot of discussion in the comments section, especially if Andy could take to the dancefloor and follow in the footsteps of his mother who appeared on Strictly in 2014.

One person said: "Ooh Andy…..next step……Strictly???. Good luck on the course today," whilst another also said: "Laugh a minute then. Please get Andy to do Strictly , please please please x x."

A third also chimed in: "Andy for Strictly… perhaps get Jamie [Murray] doing it at the same time!! I’d start watching again if that happened."

A fourth follower also said: "Oh Andy you should do strictly next year," as radio presenter Greg James said: "This is the dream line up."

Judy Murray was paired with Anton Du Beke during the 12th series of Strictly Come Dancing and made it all the way to Blackpool week before she was voted off.

Meanwhile, Andy Murray made his final competitive appearance at the Olympic Games and made it to the quarter-finals with Dan Evans.

The tennis star has previously won the Gold medal for Team GB in London 2012 and Rio 2016. Andy confirmed that the Paris 2024 Olympics would be his final appearance before retiring from professional tennis.
