Eamonn Holmes returns to UK in his wheelchair with girlfriend after Ruth calls in lawyer
Eamonn Holmes and his new girlfriend jetted back to the UK after their romantic holiday - as his ex Ruth Langsford calls in a "fierce" divorce lawyer.
Eamonn Holmes was pictured being pushed in a wheelchair by his girlfriend Katie Alexander as the couple returned from their romantic getaway. The GB News presenter arrived in Barcelona, Spain, to board Virgin Voyager's luxurious Scarlet Lady last weekend.
The broadcaster, 64, has since returned to the UK following the pair's cruising holiday.
His girlfriend Katie was all smiles as they arrived at the airport as she donned a pair of white trousers paired with a vest top and wrapped a pink jumper over her shoulders.
She accompanied her attire with a pair of flat sandals. The pair were recently seen looking loved-up in Ibiza, but have since been pictured back at Barcelona airport where they started their trip.
Eamonn looked casual in a navy jacket, matching trousers and blue slip-on trainers. He completed his look with aviator sunglasses.
The TV presenter and Ruth Langsford announced their split in May after 14 years of marriage. The couple, who have one child together, their son Jack who was born in 2002, were well-known for co-presenting This Morning.
They confirmed their split through a representative, who said: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."
However, the 64-year-old star has since moved on and is now dating 42-year-old relationship counsellor Katie. The pair reportedly met several years ago via Twitter and have formed a close friendship over the past couple of years.
It comes after a recent report that Ruth has hired Catherine Costley to help her with a financial settlement in the divorce. Ms Costley is known for her fierce approach to divorce settlements and has said all women should have a 'go bag' fund when exiting a relationship.
The savvy solicitor has represented some big names and A-list stars in the past, including Paul McCartney, Liam Gallagher, and Madonna. She was also an apprentice of 'Steel Magnolia' Baroness Fiona Shackleton - Britain's highest-profile divorce lawyer who famously represented Charles in his split from Diana in 1996.
Eamonn and Katie were spotted having the time of their lives during their recent trip abroad as they packed on the PDA.
In the photos, the pair left onlookers blushing as Eamonn cheekily grabbed Katie's bottom as the two looked to be heading on a night out.
Sources now claim that Ruth and her pals are "gobsmacked" by Eamonn's romantic trip with his new girlfriend. It was reported that someone close to the couple said: "Eamonn's zest for her [Katie] - the latest being this all-expenses-paid trip - has wowed Ruth and pals. He has found a new lease of life for sure. Everyone is amazed."
They added: "The cruise is just the latest proof of their closeness. Katie has been telling pals she and Eamonn are going to be for keeps - and now everyone is starting to believe her."
Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes got married back 2010, and had been together for more than a decade.
