Noel and Liam Gallagher of Oasis may have spent more than a decade embroiled in a highly-publicised public feud, but their ‘forgotten’ older sibling has managed to remain neutral and maintain a steady relationship with the pair.

Paul Anthony Gallagher, the eldest son of Peggy and Tommy Gallagher, grew up in Burnage, Manchester, alongside his younger brothers.

As the oldest of the three, the DJ was afforded the privilege of sleeping in his own bedroom while Noel, now 57, and Liam, 51, were forced to bunk together.

In 1997, Paul revealed what it was like growing up alongside his famous siblings in his memoir, Brothers: From Childhood to Oasis.

"We were just brothers and on the outside we appeared the same as anybody else, if a bit more argumentative and disagreeable,” he wrote at the time.

“Then one day they both showed a staggering talent for music and a surge of confidence that led them to achieve. It left me questioning my life.”

Paul recalled he once asked Liam and Noel whether he could tour with the ‘Stand by Me’ hitmakers to help oversee their merchandise sales.

He also later suggested he could be in charge of setting up an official band fan club.

However, the eldest Gallagher alleges that the pair weren’t interested in him being involved in the seminal Britpop band.

Last year, Paul appeared on the Michael Anthony Show podcast, where he claimed he could’ve joined his famous siblings as he too had a set of vocal chords on him.

"I can sing,” he began. “I don't sing anymore, when you have got two fellas in your family who can sing then what the f*** are you doing singing. Do something else."

When asked if he can play the guitar as well as Noel, Paul replied: “No I can't do that s***. That's why I gave it to Noel when I was seven.

“I was like 'Do something with that or my mother will kill me for wasting money on a f***ing guitar. Have it. Take it away'.”

Elsewhere during the interview, Paul admitted he and Liam still have a tight-knit bond.

He alleged that he and his younger brother try to meet up “every other day”.

When asked if he ever tried to intervene with the ‘Live Forever’ stars’ shenanigans in the past, Paul answered in the negative.

"No because they don't care,” he admitted. "I don't care what they do and they don't care what I do, unless I overstep the mark and then they are always on our case.

“I don't care, that's why I come across as sometimes rude.”

As well as working as a DJ and a photographer, Paul will be Liam’s best man in his upcoming wedding to fianceé Debbie Gwyther.

The pair were due to tie the knot last year but were forced to push their big day back after Liam underwent hip surgery.

Prior to Oasis announcing 14 comeback tour dates earlier this week, Paul admitted he used to get frustrated when fans would question him regarding a potential band reunion.

“When you are out in the pub, the first thing is a 'hello' they acknowledge me and the second things is '[inaudible noise]', it's like 'When are you going to ask them'. You know what I mean. Why are you asking me for?

“I get it,” he added. "There's no stars in this country. There happens to be two in my family. I get it, but it doesn't mean I want to talk about to the d***head at the bus stop.”

On Tuesday (August 27), Oasis announced a slew of live gigs, including a four-night residency at Manchester’s Heaton Park in July 2025.

The band will kick off the exclusive European run with two nights at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium (July 4 and 5) before performing in their hometown on July 11, 12, 19 and 20.

On July 25 and 26, they will return to London’s Wembley Stadium before playing again on August 2 and 3.

On August 8, the Gallaghers will take over the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh for two evenings (August 8 and 9) before closing out the tour at Dublin’s Croke Park (August 16 and 17).
