Katie Hopkins slams BBC and supports Jermaine Jenas

Katie Hopkins has sparked a mixed reaction after slamming the BBC and openly supporting Jermaine Jenas. The 41 year old was recently let go by the BBC after it emerged that he had been messaging female colleagues.

His dismissal was confirmed on Thursday afternoon, while he was presenting a show on radio station talkSPORT - who have since confirmed he won't be back in a presenting role.

Taking to X, Katie is seen walking through a field outside and sent a message of support to Jermaine. She said: "Jermaine my love, may I offer you some advice from an old bird who has been in the eye of the storm for not dissimilar reasons.

"I look back on the pictures of myself nudy rudey behind a gate and I quite like those now. You know, I think they make up the rich tapestry of my life. And I look back on that girl and I think, 'Go on girl!'

"And I would say as well, you may have to do some apologising at home and clearly some trout at the BBC decided to show someone your private text - but private texts between two consenting adults are no-one elses business."

She then claimed that Jermaine is being used as "covering fire" and touched on the new series of Strictly Come Dancing about to start next month and the recent backstage scandal it's facing.

Katie then said that Jermaine is being "used by the BBC for reparations for covering up Huw Edwards." She signed off by saying that the BBC should be "ashamed of themselves" and told Jermaine to keep his "chin up" and that "tomorrow is another day."

The BBC have been contacted for comment by Express Online.

Adding a caption to her video, Katie also typed: "Advice from an old bird, if I may. Chin up, love. People see through this @BBCOne bull***t."

Katie's supportive message has sparked a mixed reaction. One person in the comments section said: "He [Jermaine] did nothing illegal, why should it be made public.

"The woman receiving the text should have dealt with it like we did back in the day, we didn’t go running to our boss to get them fired! He was silly but who hasn’t done it, Huw Edwards did do something bad and was rewarded!" [sic]

However, one fan disagreed with her and said: "You have no idea the nature of the inappropriate behaviour he’s been accused of. What if it isn’t between consenting adults? What if whatever he did was unasked for & unwelcome?"
