Former Strictly Come Dancing star, Graziano Di Prima, is said to be pursuing legal action against the BBC. The professional dancer was dismissed from the popular competition show back in July.

His exit came following allegations of verbal and physical abuse towards his dance partner, Zara McDermott - a former Love Island contestant during the 2023 series.

According to reports, Di Prima has "called in top lawyers to sue the BBC". Mail Online reported that barristers from Whitestone Chamber have "already read thousands of text and WhatsApp messages" and believe the Italian "could sue for unfair dismissal".

An insider revealed: "Graziano feels he wasn't allowed a fair opportunity to give his side of the story so has been heartened to hear the legal team think he has a case for unfair dismissal. They've also looked at his BBC contract and believe there are grounds to sue.

He is said to be weighing up his options but reportedly remains hopeful that he can clear his name. Reports suggest that concerns about Graziano were raised as early as 2023, but Strictly bosses only issued warnings to the star.

A video allegedly showing Graziano hitting Zara surfaced among Strictly staff nine months after the initial complaint, which reportedly led to his dismissal.

Di Prima addressed the incident on Instagram, stating: "I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly.

"My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime. Respecting the BBC HR process, I understand it's best for the show that I step away," reports the Daily Star.

He added: "While there are aspects of this story involving external influences that I can't discuss at this time, I remain committed to being strong for my family and friends. I wish the Strictly family and the BBC nothing but success in the future."

Graziano concluded with a heartfelt thanks, saying: "I also want to thank everyone who has supported my career, both professionally and personally. When the time is right, I will share my story."

The ex-Strictly star first graced the dance floor in 2018, partnering with celebrities such as Vick Hope, Judi Love, and Kym Marsh, alongside Zara.
