Giovanni Pernice has reportedly been dealt fresh legal actions from his former Strictly dance partner Amanda Abbington as new allegations have emerged.

Giovanni Pernice is said to be facing a new issue after the BBC has launched an investigation into his alleged behaviour during rehearsals.

The Strictly Come Dancing pro's former dance partner Amanda Abbington, who was diagnosed with mild PTSD after her experience on the show, is reportedly considering launching fresh legal action against the star.

The new allegations come after the professional dancer reportedly refused to release their rehearsal videos, but he has denied all allegations against him.

While the former Strictly star has firmly denied the claims against him, Amanda's lawyers believe the tapes will support her misconduct accusations against the dancer as the BBC continues their investigation.

The Sun has revealed Strictly insiders are wondering "what he had to hide" after he is said to have blocked the release of training footage with Amanda.

The source told the publication: "Amanda and her legal team asked to have access to the tapes. The BBC contacted Giovanni and his legal team to get their consent but they refused.

"Amanda's legal team are now weighing up an appeal to the Information Commissioner's Office to get access to the evidence as they think it is vital in helping support her claims.

"He claims the allegations are false — she insists they will validate every one of her grievances. To be clear, the BBC are reviewing the tapes and taking them very seriously. But there are data implications to them ever being leaked so they are in an unenviable position," they continued.

ExpressOnline has contacted both the BBC and Giovanni's representatives for comment.

This update comes after it was revealed the accusations have now "widened" after more complaints surrounding the long-running show.

Insiders have told the MailOnline that the accusations have prompted bosses to look deeper into the inquiry and at other matters, and individuals, involved with the popular dance series as they gear up to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

This means that Giovanni has an even longer wait for an outcome after Amanda, Laura Whitmore and Ranvir Singh have all come forward to complain about him.

When it was first reported that the allegations had been made against Giovanni, he issued a statement via his Instagram, affirming: "To my fans and followers, every week, there are totally untrue stories about me in the media. As you know, I have always rejected any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour.

"The latest accusations are simply false. I am cooperating fully with the ongoing BBC investigation, which will determine the truth. As requested, I have stayed silent, but I am looking forward to the conclusion of the investigation and ultimately clearing my name and establishing the truth."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
