Alison Hammond 'shaken' by new relationship criticism as friends share 'best thing to do'
This Morning presenter Alison Hammond recently went public with her Russian masseur boyfriend David Putman, sharing snaps of the pair on Instagram.
This Morning star Alison Hammond has been left “shaken” by criticism of her age-gap relationship.
The 49-year-old was recently spotted at a celebrity event with Russian masseur boyfriend David Putman, who is 23 years her junior.
Alison and David are said to have met over a year ago when she booked him for a massage, with their relationship said to have turned into a romance late last year.
Fans were left shocked in April when Alison first gave them a glimpse into her life with David on her Instagram page.
Insiders however say the criticism Alison has faced - including from David’s mum Olga - has left a bitter taste.
Speaking to Heat, an insider said: “Alison is really shaken by what she feels is a barrage of negativity since she announced her relationship with David. She can’t get her head around the snide comments.
“It’s taken the shine off what should have been such a happy time in her life.”
The source went on to say that Alison “can’t understand” why dating a younger man is seen as such a taboo.

They pointed out that acting legend Joan Collins’ relationship with Percy Gibson - 31 years her junior - “never got this much grief”.
David’s mum Olga has reportedly expressed her desire for her son to find a “nice Russian girl,” and is concerned that Alison has more “financial power” than her son.
David is however said to be “unfazed” by his mum’s comments, while Alison’s son Aidan, 19, is also said to back the couple.
The source says Alison’s close pals - two of which are also in age-gap relationships - say the best thing is “not to give any f**** what people think” and that “age is only a number”.
Alison’s previous relationships with audio technician Ben Kusi and gardener Ben Hawkins ended in heartbreaks, but friends now believe she could “go all the way to the altar” with David.
They pointed to Alison’s 5st weight loss, saying it is a bid to try and fit into the wedding dress of her dreams.
Speaking to Closer magazine, one friend said: “Although she’s not yet engaged, she sees David as The One.
“It likely won’t be long until they take the next step, so she has her sights on losing a further 3st and wearing the dress of her dreams.”
