Gardeners' World presenter Monty Don has shared a heartfelt post, causing his fans to rally around and support him.
Monty Don has been flooded with support after sharing a poignant social media post about his late dog, Nellie. Gardeners' World star lost Nellie last year following a battle with cancer.
The touching throwback photo, shared earlier today (Wednesday, July 3) shows Monty next to his late golden retriever Nellie.
In the snap, the adorable pooch is jumping up at Monty with her paws perched on his right arm as they are looking into each other's eyes.
Between Monty's legs in the picture, which appears to be taken in his garden, is Ned the puppy retriever who is having a nap and looks blissfully unphased by Nellie jumping up at their owner.
Monty captioned the heartwarming post: "More memories- reassuring Nellie just a few days after Ned arrived."
The Gardeners' World host received dozens of comments from his Instagram followers under the emotional post, with one writing: "She was one beautiful soul."
A second remarked: "Luckily our hearts just grow bigger with every new love."
"Argh lovely Nellie, I keep forgetting that she's passed," a third fan wrote. "You had such a special bond."
Offering some kind words, a fourth penned: "We said goodbye to our Roxy around same time as you for Nellie. I always think of ours and your loss and the love we had for them."

The latest post comes days after Monty shared another sentimental photograph of Nellie and his other dog, Patti.
The 68-year-old wrote: "Found this picture taken 4 years ago of Nell and Patti ( and me)."

Monty took to social media last year to announce Nellie's sad passing, by writing: "She was diagnosed with cancer in June and every day this summer has been a gift but it is over now.
"We buried her in the garden next to Nigel wrapped in one of my jackets with flowers, balls and her favourite biscuits.
"Her end was peaceful and dignified and ended obvious suffering but it never gets any easier to bear. So life goes on, but for the moment we are very, very sad."
