Ruth Langsford issued an emotional update weeks after her split from Eamonn Holmes. In May, Ruth and Eamonn, both 64, announced they had called it quits after 14 years of marriage.

On Monday (June 17), the Loose Women star took to Instagram as she reposted a snap of her friend's daughter, Poppy. In the image, Poppy was walking down an alleyway pulling a large pink bag.

The caption read: "Year 6 residential begins! Thank you Auntie @ruthlangsford for bag xxx." Ruth reshared the photo, adding: "Have a great time Poppy!"

It comes after Ruth was flooded with support as she shared a heartwarming tribute to her late father and sister.

Marking Father's Day, the presenter posted a throwback photo of her dad, Dennis, with her elder sister Julia on his shoulders.

Ruth's father, who was married to his wife Joan for 57 years up until his death, died aged 84 in 2012 from complications caused by dementia. Meanwhile, Julia died after taking her own life at the age of 62 in 2019.

Paying tribute to her late family members, Ruth wrote: "Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Dads out there….hope you’re having a fantastic day being spoilt by your families.

"I’m remembering both my wonderful Dad Dennis and my sister Julia today….this is them on a day out while my Mum was still in hospital with me just after I’d been born. Singapore 1960."

She added the hashtags: "#fathersday #family #memories #love."

Ruth was inundated with support from fans, however, other social media users accused the former This Morning presenter of snubbing Eamonn in the Father's Day tribute.

Ruth, who shares 22-year-old son Jack with the Eamonn, revealed via a spokesperson on May 25 that they were divorcing. The joint statement read: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

Eamonn addressed their split during his GB News show, saying: "Just before we move on I'd like to thank people for their support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated."
