Taylor Swift officially reached billionaire status this year, and her globally successful Eras Tour continues to generate eye-watering profits.

With the singer about to perform her first UK show on Friday in Edinburgh, she’s predicted to boost the economy by a staggering £1 billion.

An average ticket cost £206 across England, Scotland and Wales, not to mention £400 VIP packages and merch sales.

In the UK alone, around 1.2 million fans will be seeing the Shake It Off hitmaker perform live, spending an estimated £848 each on tickets, travel, accommodation, new outfits and more.

Plus, the tour itself has generated over a billion dollars in profits for Taylor already, so what is her current net worth?

Arguably the world’s most famous pop star, Taylor still hasn’t reached the heights of some of the richest people in the world.

She has just a fraction of the wealth of the likes of major tech players Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

Even so, Taylor has managed the extraordinary achievement of becoming one of the first music artists to achieve billionaire status through album sales and performing alone.

She’s also the first person to win Album of the Year four times at the Grammy Awards, and was Spotify’s most-streamed artist of 2023 with an incredible 26.1 billion global streams, earning her an immense £72 million.

Her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, shifted almost two million copies in its first week alone, and the Eras Tour won’t be over until this December.

With another huge year of performing and album sales still to wrap up, fans could expect another massive increase in her net worth by this time next year.

Until then, Taylor’s current net worth stands at $1.1 billion (£877 million), according to Money Week.

The Bad Blood songstress would already be halfway to billionaire through her music alone, as Forbes estimates $500 million (£390 million) of her wealth is generated by album sales and touring.

In 2020, she made a savvy business move after her music manager Scooter Braun sold the rights to Swift’s master recordings to a private equity fund. Deciding to take back control of her music, she released Taylor’s Versions of her first six albums, meaning she now keeps 100% of the royalties for her re-released back catalogue.

She has also earned around $35 million (£27 million) from the cinema release of the Eras Tour, which is now playing on Disney+ for fans to enjoy any time they want.
